Lanternai Privacy Policy

Lanternai is an AI assistant that runs on your device. This policy explains what happens to your data.

What stays on your device. Your chats, the files and photos you add, and your settings are stored only on your device. Chats are kept in an encrypted database. Photos and files you add are kept in the app's private storage. On Windows, all of this is kept in the Lanternai folder of your user account, and the key that opens the chat database is kept in Windows Credential Manager. Lanternai does not upload any of them, and Android cloud backup is turned off for this data.

No account, no tracking. Lanternai has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. We do not collect usage data or crash reports.

When Lanternai uses the internet. Lanternai needs the internet only to download models: during setup, when you add Lanternai Pro, and when you ask it to download or check its model files again. These files are delivered from model.lanternai.xyz through Cloudflare, which, like any web server, processes your IP address to deliver the download. We do not receive or store your chats, files or photos in this process.

Our website. lanternai.xyz uses no cookies, no analytics and no third-party scripts. It is served through Cloudflare, which processes standard connection data to deliver the site.

Deleting your data. Delete chats one by one, or everything in Settings → Your data. Uninstalling Lanternai on Android removes all of its data from your device. On Windows, the uninstaller asks whether to also remove your downloaded models, chats and files, and keeps them if you answer No or uninstall silently.

Children. Lanternai is not directed at children under 13.

Changes. If this policy changes, we update this page and the date above.
